2010 is the eighteenth year of the Thomas Wooden Railway. In this year, the Early Engineers line and products from the DVD Splish, Splash, Splosh! and the film Misty Island Rescue were introduced. The logo and packaging for the line changed once again.

Proposed Line Relaunch
At some period in 2010, Learning Curve had Michael DiBartolo research and design a possible relaunch of the Thomas Wooden Railway line. The ultimate proposal suggested the line implement more technology, more tactile materials, and more interactive features to enhance both "excitement" and "experience".
The design vision for this relaunch included the following proposals:
- Rubber funnels that would move a character's eyes and make them speak when pressed.
- Electric-powered track with battery-operated engines to run on it.
- Adding more landscape bases to destinations with felt for texture.
- More prominent interactive features with more noticeable function.
- Staining the wood track to increase perceived value and provide greater distinction from other brands.
- Creating a device which would automatically lay track.
- Releasing a pack including Thomas, a Cargo Car, and a piece of cargo with a USB stick embedded which would allow access to online activities.
- Using recycled materials in packaging development.
- Adding more details to box art to develop a better mood for a specific product.
Ultimately, this relaunch was not proceeded with.
Trivia
- This was the final year where individual pieces of track were sold in Europe.
- In the UK yearbook, a Take Along Madge is still present and James is still listed as LC99149.
- The new characters from Misty Island Rescue were meant to come out in the UK this year as well as in the US and Australia, but got delayed to the following year for unknown reasons.
