- On the 2001 box, the Barrel Loader features an oil barrel instead of a corn barrel.
- The original Clickity-Clack Track version of the set was updated in 2001 to include the redesigned Barrel Loader.
- A year after the set's initial release, the Engineer Playset was released as a Sears exclusive set featuring the same track layout, but with different engines and accessories.
- This set was a recipient of the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio's Gold Seal "Best Toy Award".
