The Thomas Wood Wiki Naming Convention is a basic formatting system for how to name vehicle and set pages, images and track pages.
Product Pages
- Per most recent US name on box or item wherever possible; if no name is provided, descriptive name based on item facts. For example, the label underneath a vehicle's chassis.

Images
Image files must be named in the following order:
- Year of formal release (if possible to provide; items sold for a short period usually do not require a year)
- Certain detail (if applicable i.e. Prototype)
- Item name (if available; if no name is provided, descriptive name based on item facts)
- Box (if applicable); alternatively Backofbox or a country such as UKbox; no notation is necessary for a box's front; only the first word is capitalized)
- Number (if applicable, starting with 1, 2, 3, etc; images for other things such as contents, exclusive pieces, or particular features)
Track
- Per size of curved track, curved portion of switch track and straight track
